GFT regularly hosts monthly events from Monorail Film Club's eclectic film screenings, The Skinny's Film Quiz, the Film Discussion Group and late night cult screenings.
Monorail Film Club
A monthly film club with films selected and introduced by special guests. Previous screenings include The Servant (introduced by Alex Kapranos from Franz Ferdinand) and That Sinking Feeling (introduced by actor Robert Buchanan and Stuart Murdoch of Belle and Sebastian).

The Skinny Film Quiz
Test your knowledge of film facts and trivia against the wonderfully talented writers of The Skinny’s film section. Having put their movie-drenched heads together, they’ve come up with a quiz that will test even the most knowledgeable of cinema buffs, while offering a guaranteed great evening to boot. Film Discussion Group
This group meets on the second Wednesday of each month in the upstairs bar at GFT to discuss both blockbusters and arthouse movies. Led by film writer Eddie Harrison. Come along to chat about recent releases with other film lovers.

Horror/Cult Cinema Discussion Group
A new group which will meet on the first Wednesday of each month to discuss horror and cult cinema. Meet other genre fans in a friendly atmosphere to exchange thoughts and opinions about your favourite flicks. Discuss anything from giallo to exploitation to modern independent films!

Late Night Cult Classics
GFT programmes fortnightly late night cult classics for those who like to stay out late on Friday nights watching thrill-seekers, oddballs, strange gangs, crazies and weird rituals on screen. With cheap tickets for students and the bar open so you can take a beer into the cinema, these screenings often sell out. We recommend advance booking to avoid disappointment.
